Is It Safe to Vape in Your Car?
November 14th, 2017

Vaping in your car is a question we get quite a few times and people are just wondering “Is it safe to vape in your car?” or “Are there any laws against it?”. Hopefully, this will answer some of those questions.

First of all, when you are vaping in your car it is recommended to crack a window or put the window down all the way. I know it is a little tough especially in the colder climates we have right now in Canada. But if you leave the windows up, what you will notice is especially in the colder temperatures; the VG in the juice will leave a film on your window.  It's going to first off look absolutely disgusting when you’re always in the car, and secondly, the visibility will be down when you are driving. But say for example if you are noticing kind of like a film or your windows are starting to look a little foggy a little bit of window cleaner will clear that right up. It’s happened to my car too, just spray on some window cleaner and give it a quick wipe and you’re good to go.

Another reason why you’d want to roll down your windows when you are vaping in your car… I’ve just picked up my car, I’ve had it for about two months now and I just took it into service, you know a good oil change and everything like that, and the mechanic said my cabin filter was really dirty for how long I’ve had it for. I was like, there is no possible way… I thought he was just trying to get some money out of me. But then I thought about it, If the VG can gunk up windows then it could definitely gunk up my cabin filter as well. So I started asking other people and this person I actually work with said that his mechanic said the exact same thing, that his cabin filter was extremely gunky for how long he’s had the car for. I’m not confirming or denying that whether you know both our mechanics just wanted some extra money or if it actually gunks it up but it’s something to keep in mind.

One more point is distracted driving.  I can’t stress this enough do drip and drive! I consider it to be just as bad as like texting and driving. You’re focusing on dripping your RDA while you are driving… I have seen some of those EZ dripper things that you’d mount to your windshield and just press your RDA against the nozzle to drip. They are pretty cool. I’ve read some stories where someone was driving and they were dripping and got pulled over by a police officer, got a ticket for distracted driving… You want to avoid that as much as you can.

You just want to take as many precautions as you can especially now that it’s starting to snow out here, the Toronto drivers are just so unpredictable.
